Does anyone have instructions on how to reassemble a Winchester Model 63?
My neighbor took his apart, and asked me if I know how to put it together
(No, really!). Most of it looks pretty straightforward, but I'm not sure how the forearm assembly goes back together.

I've heard the info is in the DBI book on semiauto rimfire rifles, but I don't have a copy (yet).

v/r,
Ray

Get on Gun Parts Corporation's website and check out the exploded drawing that they have for the model 63. It may help you with the reassembly. You can print it out if needed. Let us know how it turns out.

Thank you for responding!

The Numrich schematic is some help, but Nobody over at Rimfire Central sent me a copy of the Winchester assembly info from the DBI book. My neighbor will have it tomorrow, and maybe I'll find out just how far he dis-assembled it.

Oh, I did also order a copy of the book from Amazon.

Thanks again!

351 Winchester: I'll certainly pass that warning along!

Update: Looks like the 63 went back together without problems. My neighbor had originally stripped it down to do a total cleaning, hoping that old lube & dirt were causing failure to extract problems. But he reports that it still doesn't function well with Remington Yellow Jacket ammo; too many failures to extract. But it does work ok with CCI.

I mentioned that he should just use the ammo that has proven reliable, but he feels the rifle should be able to consume all 22 LRs equally. So he may take this to a gunsmith for some extractor work.

Thanks again all, for your insights!
