I checked the serial and it dates back to 1956. The rifle appears in good condition to me and it hasnt been fired for 20 years or more. I will try and get some pictures soon for a better idea on the condition. Anyone have a rough range on what its worth?

I'll double KaceCoyote's offer and kick in a case of your favorite brew to boot! :neener:

To answer your question, just as comparison of a sort,I bought one simular to your discription,in .32WSP made in 1944 and paid $175,but that was 10 years ago

If it is in "nice" shape, meaning really nice, near new condition, then $500 around Houston, TX, but otherwise it degrades quickly to $300 to $350.

If it is really nice and you want to part with it, email me. I could use another pre-64 30/30 in nice shape.

I will see about taking some pictures of it today. It is my fathers and he was going to just hand it down to me until I did a quick lookup and found out it might be worth more than the $50 he paid for it.

4 Mod 94s

I recently started cataloguing all my family firearms and found that I have four Winchester Model 94's. The oldest of the bunch was made in 1912 and is 25-35 caliber. The other three are 30-30s and were made in 1917, 1928 and 1952. They're all in great shape, no more than a little blue wear. Its just a testament to Winchesters craftsmanship that these nearly 100 year old rifles still fire reliably.

Andrew S:

As you no doubt have learned, purchase price in the past is not a very good measure of current value of a firearm. Condition is one of the factors.

I wouuld say on average of 400 depending on condition, if its really sharp then it's upwards of 500 if its dirty, etc down to 300 but YMMV.
