Winchester primer problems!?

I have shot a ton of WSP primers over the years with no issues. Have they changed the color of the boxes, all of mine are darker blue.

I'll never use WLR primers again. They were out of spec and allowed gasses to cut the bolt face on my Rem 700. Your not the only one with Winchester primer issues, there's a lot of reported problems out there.

Winchester had great CS and refunded my money and offered to fix my bolt all free of charge. Regardless, it's CCI for me from now on.

Ruined the bolt on my 40X. I developed a load with older silver WLR primers. Unfortunately, when I switched to the newer unpladed primers I loaded 500 cartridges, tossed the primer boxes, and did not shoot right away. When I did I popped primer after primer. Reduced the load and replaced the bullet with a lighter bullet and still Popped primers. Pulled down over over 400 cartridges to replace the primer. Threw out the remaining primers. What a PITA.

Good luck

Jerry

Another member here had similar problems when switching to the newer brass colored Winchester primers.
