Has anyone had any experience with winchester large pistol primers FTF? I have had 6-7 FTF out of 500 rounds that were hit solidly, but no dice. Thoughts?

Since Fred is quoting deeper than he was a short time ago, I'm going to agree with him. You didn't mention the powder, but I don't suspect you're using anything exotic. It's pretty rare for Glocks to have FTFs, so I'd say examine 2 things. Primer seating depth which you can do with your dial caliper that also acts as a depth gauge. And 2, check your striker spring if your primer depths are .006" or deeper. The striker channel may need a good clean, also!;)

That's true, I used to quote .004" as the standard for seating primers, but I've found that some primers, and primer pockets, require deeper seating to be reliable, hence the variable. On the other hand, some primer/primer pocket combinations won't allow for the .006" seating depth without crushing the primer. At any rate, seat the primers to the bottom of the primer pocket and set the anvil correctly, and there won't be any primer issues, if the firearm is in proper working order.

Hope this helps.

Fred
