The 180 grain was my carry load for the last few years in my XD-40 until this weekend when I traded up for an XD-45.

Everything I have seen / read about the Ranger T has been favorable, from its expansion through cloth barrier to its ability to maintain its weight through expansion.

Don't know much about the partition gold line, but you can't go wrong with the ranger T's.

The 180 gr Ranger is the bullet I bet my life on. There are many rounds that expand wonderfully in bare gelatin, but fail when shot through cloth. The Ranger was one of the few that would expand 100% of the time through cloth.

The RA45T is my daily carry load. It has been accurate, consistant and reliable in my gun. I just wish Express Police Supply would sell it to non LE personel. They used to but changed their policy. They have the best price I can find. :banghead:

Good premium SD ammo if you can find it. Usually $19-21/50 at gun shows here (when you can find it) which ends up being cheaper than the Winchester SXT which is the same ammo in 20/box consumer packaging at ~$12/20!

CDNN does not have the T-Series Ranger. They have the 155 and 180gr jhp Ranger ammo.

The 20 round SXT ammo is not the same as the Ranger SXT(discontinued in 1999) or the current Ranger T-Series. But the Ranger T-Series is still in the SXT family.

The Ranger Partition Gold line was discontinued about two years ago and is being replaced by the Ranger Bonded Series(non SXT).

What's the difference in the Ranger and T-Series Ranger?

Ranger JHP is a standard jhp with a sealed case, sealed primer and flash retardant powder.

Ranger T-Series has the nickel case that is also sealed and has flash retardant powder. The bullet is about the seventh generation of the SXT design.

Ranger bonded will have a bonded jhp as well as the sealed case and flash retardant powder.
