Winchester Ranger T Ammo in NY

Anybody know if this is legal to carry around in NY or CT because it does have a law enforcement designation? By NY i do not mean New York city

Question: Unless the rounds themselves are marked LEO, how would anyone know that the manufacturer marketed them as 'Law Enforcement Only'?

Also, if it was truly "Law Enforcement Only" ammunition, do you really think you could just buy it at the local gun shop or Wal-Mart?

It's marketing. Pure & simple.

I havent seen them in any store

I saw a ammunition test and the box says LE use only

There are a couple boxs for sale on gunbroker but........before you buy it says to check legal issues for your state

I just googled "Winchester Ranger Ammo for sale" and was able to find multiple well-known online ammo retailers offering it for sale to civilians.

It's marketing. If an ammo maker wanted to restrict it's wares to certain markets, it would do so. NOBODY would be able to sell it, especially not high-profile outfits like Ammoman, etc.

Also, just because an item is marked "Law Enforcement Only" or something similar doesn't mean it carries any weight. A number of my friends have Glocks that have "Property of Monroe PD" engraved on the slide. They used to be police property, but were liquidated and resold. Totally legal to own.

Long story short, you're good to go.
