I think any "expert" has George Madis' "The Winchester Book", Harold Williamson's "Winchester", and Herbert Houze's "Winchester Repeating Arms Company." Madis's little passport size "Winchester Dates of Manufacture" is also invaluable, even though the information is also found in "The Winchester Book." There are also specialized books on some models and Winchester plays a prominent role in books like Larry Ruth's "War Baby" about the Winchester-designed U.S. .30 Carbine.
(It has been said that an expert is not one who has a lot of books; an expert is one who has it all in his head. I plead guilty to not having it all in my head.)
