Wind?

O.K. Where is the best place to hunt when it is windy? In the woods or out of the woods? I am thinking in the woods. I own 80 acres about 70% is open the rest is thick tamaracks where should I go?

I'd try to keep the wind in my face and hunt where I can see.

Go into yoour 80 acres with the wind in your face.
If the wind is swirling around, and not relaible, you'll likely chase the deer out of your 80 acres, so don't hunt under those conditions. Wait till late afternoon just before sunset sometimes wind settles down, or mornings.

Even on a very windy day here, the wind usually settles down at about 4:30 to 5:00 pm. This is a good time to be in a stand.
