Bought a couple 5 round boxes. I have zero Experience with reduced recoil slugs. what are your thoughts on them and on the Winlite winchester brand reduced recoil. Hunting experiences with them would be nice to hear also as well as how they function in semi autos. The winlyte advertise 1oz slug at 1200 fps, seems like enough to get the job done to me.

I'll save you the time I missed spelled REDUCED :)

.....

ive seen winlite online but not in stores yet,i have a small stash of speer lawmen 12 gauge reduce recoil 1300 fps slugs, its what i was taking to deer camp this year in red star but my hips wouldnt cooperate,disabled-motorcycle wreck,my friends alwys take me and put me where the deer are, also got invited to shoot a wild hog was wondering about these lawmen slugs.good luck,i think their ok for hunting.

.......

on around past huntsville way down highway 23 back up in the mountains got relatives and a friend with hogs tearing up their land, theyve killed a few.i have a coyote problem got me some #4 noble lawmen buckshot to try and give em a dose of medicine.

437 grains at 1200 fps is comparable to the original .45-70 loading with a larger (.72) caliber. I'd say that it's more than enough for deer. Penetration on big bears would be questionable than with the 45-70 because of less sectional density...but for anything less durable...it'll suffice.

i didnt realize how low velocity these cci"s where or even winlites for that matter, when regular slugs clock 1500 and 1600 fps i thinks what i read, i cant find any enegy readings for these reduced loads, lawmens, either,oh well,i bought a mess of 00 reminton buck for backup if slugs dont work.also been having trouble finding slugs ,lots of buck, no 12 gauge slugs.go figure,in a big time hunting state.

my local walmart doesnt carry firearms but has a pretty good selection of ammo thats where I found the winlyte go figure, from tv's to ammo to housewares
