I guess if this isn't the right place for this question, it will get moved. I searched the phrase on THR and didn't come up with anything.

My son wears earmuffs and hates how they squeeze the safety glasses against his head (he has to suck it up and wear them anyway). Someone suggested wire rimmed glasses but I have not been able to find any with Google Shopping or Amazon searches.

I'm assuming your son does not wear corrective lenses. Suggestion from a long-time glasses-wearer: get your local eyeglasses place to make up a set of plain (non-correcting) shatter-resistant glasses in a frame that suits your son's ear protection. Take the muffs to the store to try them out with various frames.

Body Spec, Wiley X, and Titmus make safety glasses with straps. They won't win any style awards but they are comfortable with ear muffs and very secure. I've used all with prescription lenses or inserts.

Why stick with muffs? Molded ear plugs can be made for around $10... and foam plugs are less than $1.

I would be concerned about the strength of wire rimmed frames for safety protection.

If the bows have Z87 stamped on them they are safety grade glasses. + on the welding supply, also try any tool or safety supply.
