Ok, I know us Wisconsinites have been posting these left and right, but I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. It's extremly important that we keep the pressure on the WI Representatives from every angle. If they see that we are NOT a loud MINORITY, that licensed CCW is actually the will of the MAJORITY of law-abiding Wisconsin citizens, and heck, the nation, we can help sway these wavering legislators. If you have emailed a rep, send a fax. If you've sent a fax, make a phone call. Lets flood their communications with positive letters and comments, and let's be polite but to the point in our communications. If you've contacted someone allready, contact them again using a different medium. Your message will make a difference, and comments from out of state are welcome too if you don't mind the long distance. Below are the crucial contacts (all Democrats) whose votes are CRITICAL in passing licensed ccw this Tuesday, Feb. 3rd. I know you don't have time to mail a letter in, but a fax is almost as good and will get there the same day and you can add your personal touch.

Good luck w/ the veto override. Word of warning though... I live in Missouri, and as you probably know, just when we thought we finally had it all wrapped up, all it took was one wacko liberal and a sympathetic judge.

That was nearly 5 months ago, and we STILL have no CCW!!! I have all the faith in the world that our SC will rule in our favor within a couple weeks, but there's always that chance they won't. Don't rest when you get the override, because there are those that are already working on a lawsuit and shopping for a judge; I guarantee it.

Wisconsin: The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose.

I was going to ask what grounds would they sue but they don't need any.
Unfortunately.

One additional mention: it is not out of line for people to call the three Assembly representatives who've committed to the override and thank them for their principled support. They are:

Representative Barbara Gronemous from the Whitehall area (888)-534-0091

Representative Marlin Schneider from the Wisconsin Rapids area (888)-529- 0072

Representative Wayne Wood from the Janesville area (888)-947-0044

When you call these three, be absolutely respectful and friendly. Let them know just how much you appreciate their brave stance on this issue.

But, still, watch out for Representative Sherman. Last November he wrote an article in his hometown newspaper talking about why he thought CCW was a good idea. Last week he wrote an article talking about why backing his governor in the veto override was a good idea.

I don't know what game Sherman is playing, but it's really upsetting my stomach.
