Here is what the anti self-defense groups have planned for Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004, the day the Assembly will vote to override Governor Doyle's veto of SB 214. Pass it on, and please come to the Capitol to show your support!

Senator Dave Zien
(608) 266-7511

OPPOSED TO CONCEALED WEAPONS?

COME TO THE CAPITOL
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2004, 9:00 A.M.
CHECK IN AT ROOM 425 SOUTHWEST

On Tuesday, February 3, 2004, the Wisconsin Assembly will attempt to
override the Governor's veto of a bill that will overturn Wisconsin's more
than 130 year old prohibition on carrying concealed weapons. The Assembly is
moving forward with the override despite overwhelming evidence that the
majority of Wisconsin citizens oppose such a law! These representatives,
elected to represent the views of the citizens who elected them, are doing
exactly the opposite for purely political reasons.

A very vocal minority, the pro-concealed carry movement, plan to pack the
house! Don't let their voices ring louder than the majority of the state's
citizens. Please come and become a part of history.

The Assembly plans to take the floor at 10:00 a.m. so don't be late. You can
visit your Assembly representatives while you are at the Capitol to tell
them that you oppose concealed carry. Materials will be available in Room
425 Southwest.

Women w/ children are encouraged to attend. Pink, first worn by the Mothers
Acting Up group, has been a unifying color against concealed carry. Feel
free to wear something pink or to wear any buttons/pins that identify your
affiliation with an organization that opposes concealed carry.

ALSO NOTE: The Million Mom March plans to hold a bell-ringing ceremony,
recognizing the lives of those who died by gun violence at 12 p.m. at the
Capitol.

"A very vocal minority, the pro-concealed carry movement..."

Minority? Everytime we show up at committee hearings and legislative sessions, we outnumber them ten to one or more.

Make sure you outnumber them 20 to 1 this time

This is the one that counts. Everyone who can plausably be there should be. If I weren't in DC at the time I sure as hell would be there

man, i got my vacation request in for tuesday, I'll find out monday, I hope I can go!! tell all your friends to go to the capitol tuesday!!!!

Women w/ children are encouraged to attend

Typical leftist "for the children" nonsense.

Can you guys counter ths blatant BS? Unfortunately I would imagine that most of the "pro-CCW" crowd is the reviled "middle class white male".

I could be wrong. In any case stand proud. Today Wisconsin, tomorrow Maryland.

"Women w/ children are encouraged to attend"

Yep, we had a couple of moms last week bring about a dozen or so kids in tow. Obviously, these kids don't have the faintest idea what the issue is about, and many of them seemed either confused or scared.

Trophy wives, prop kids...you know, I really despise these people.

Fine, lets bring our own kids because for those of us who have kids, we'll be protecting them too. Oh wait, that's an emotional response, we gotta take the high road....but sometimes we need to fight fire with fire, so lets dress them kids up in "LET MY DADDY CARRY A GUN SO HE CAN PROTECT ME" shirts and lets get down to Madison!@#!

While I don’t agree with dragging kids into the fold, I can’t say that I “despise†those that do. Everyone following this knows that both sides are over the top. Cooler heads are needed.

Here come the flames.

If I could afford it, I'd drive up there just to show the soccer moms and Braying Jackasses what-for. I'm otherwise occupied however. I wish you all the luck in the world, Wisconsin-ites.

Hi, CommonSense. I say I "despise" these people for a number of reasons, some of which I outlined in my PM to you: harassing phone calls, signing me up for porno sites, etc.

And I despise them because they use lies and distortions to make their arguments. Adding their kids to the mix just puts it over the top.

"Cooler heads are needed."

At the Capitol, everyone is respectful and polite. Here on THR is where we come to vent our frustrations.

Do you guys think it would be wrong to include this in our Emails to our reps. Sorta show them what the other side is up to???

It is also sorta interesting how both sides of this issue have made threatning phone calls to our reps. If our side would have been a bit nicer, it would have been better for us. "We all need to protect ourselves from this type of violence."
;)
