Does anyone know of a direct replacement for the Witness rear sight? I am looking for something like the King's Hardball sight or Yost-Bonitz Retro sight. The factory sights leave a lot to be desired, and the LPA adjustable I tried was even worse. The notch on the LPA is so shallow that you can only fit half of the front dot in it. I guess this will teach me to get something other than a 1911..... :banghead:

I use an adjustable LPA standard, not low profile, sight on my 10mm Witness.
No issues other than less adjustment than I would like.

Novak may have, or be able to fit, a decent Hardcore adjustable sight to your Witness but the cost would be near as much as the pistol is worth used.

I may have actually solved the problem. It looks like both the King's Harball rear sight and the Yost-Bonitz Retro will fit the Witness dovetail. The catch is that the Witness dovetail is machined backwards from the dovetail on a 1911. The dovetail is tapered in the oposite direction. I may have to do some fitting, but I think it will work. I might also have to go with a dovetailed front sight (probably Novak) since the King and Yo-Bo sights are a bit shorter than the stock Witness rear. Stay tuned. Film at eleven....

Keep in mind that the CZ pattern requires a very low front sight height in relation to the rear-keep this in mind when installing a dovetailed front sight.

Yup, that's a fact. I am hoping the front sight will be tall enough to be useful with the shorter rear. If not, back to the drawing board. I should know by this weekend. I will do a trial run with the King's Hardall sight on the rear and the stock Witness front. We'll see....
