I bought a Bushnell Trophy 1x28 Red Dot today. Got it home put it on my beater lever, and the dot is fuzzy. Real fuzzy, but get this. When I take my glasses off it is clear as day. A nice little bead. Is there something wrong with the lenses on this optic? Are they backwards? I see fine with my glasses with other scopes.

Any input would be a great help?

My thoughts is that the lenses are backwards in the optic.

Well. Must have been a combo of my lenses and the glasses. When wearing my contacts it seems to clear up some.

Do you have astigmatism? By other optics, do you mean other red dots? Or do you mean traditional scopes or holo sights?

senie!, I am speaking of my multiple Elite 3200 with a FireFly reticle. They are standard rifle scopes with crosshairs.

This red dot is my first, and is giving me fits.

As side view, I put a Barska 50mm Red dot and got mulitple dots and a smear, replaced it with a Redhead 30mm, same thing. With and without glasses. I have been practicing and I think if you really concentrate on the target the distortions minimize to a fair degree. Try it. Good luck, the only one I don't get some distortion is an eotech type holographic sight.

I think the reticle is focused at a distance that your glasses have a hard time with.

Do you wear bifocals?

I do and have trouble with all of the holo sights, regardless of brand. The dots all look like grape clusters.

I have astigmatism and red dots just don't work right for me. They show up, but the dot is never crisp, it usually looks oblong and fuzzy, almost as if two dots are trying to be projected at the same time. All my buddies see the dot just fine.

Same here. My Red Dot is fuzzy or double in low light. I wear progressive glasses. The Dot is sharp & clear outdoors or in bright light.
My cheap adjustable non Red scopes work well indoors.
