What's the deal with this? Seems super cheap compared to some of the other stuff out there ($14 for a box of .270).
Is this stuff any good?

I know there's been countless gripes about how the wolf 7.65 and 5.56 ammo seems to be really dirty. The gold rifle ammo is supposedly boxer primed, brass casings, and cleaner powder though. Anybody have any experience with this stuff?

I went through a couple of boxes if 7.62 Nato and it worked fine. Personally I never shoot the steel case stuff so I can't compare. If you can get it cheap it is worth it I think just due to it being brass and re-loadable. I have not seen too much of it around (in .308 anyway) so I am not sure what the normal price is but I would not pay a premium for it though.

Wolf Gold was originally, and I believe still, loaded by Privi Partisan, of the former Yugoslavia.:)

Federal Classic Power Shock is 12.97 for the .270 Winchester at Walmart. Buy 2 boxes and get $10 back from Federal via a mail in rebate. I think you need to do this before the end of the year, though.

The Privi Partisan (PPU headstamp) distributed/marketed by Wolf is great ammo. Better than some US ammo that I've seen sold for higher prices. BSW

hmmm - that's an even better deal.
I have issues with Walmart though (and not for the normal gun-related reasons). I'll have to have a moral argument with myself and check it out.

Remington has a mail-in rebate too. Was in a pinch yesterday and picked up a box - guy handed me a form at the counter. Pleasant surprise there.

yep its privi, good stuff not crap like regular wolf, i actually will feed 8mm gold to m48

Primers seem to be seated deep on some of the Wolf ammo. Should work fine in a .270 bolt though.

I killed a mule deer with the wolf gold .303 British 150n soft point. It dropped him quick and was a through and through so I did not get to inspect the bullet. looked like it opened up, the exit was gnarly. It seems to be pretty good ammo at a very good price.

Hmm - i just found the Prvi stuff even cheaper then the wolf. Only difference is wolf I can drive over and go get it, Prvi i'd have to order online.

decisions decisions.

Also -i'm not worried about hunting rounds, expansion, etc right now. Just looking for something cheap I can shoot for the time being, without causing too many problems.

I noticed the Federal Power Shock i ran through the other day really copper fouled for some reason. The Remington Core-Lokt stuff was fine though. Weird.

the only gold wolf I shoot/have shot is their 6.5 grendel and it does about 1.5 moa out of my gun. not superb but at 12.99 and reloadable hard to beat . Is somewhat dirty though.

I have shot both Prvi and Wolf gold in my military surplus rifles. It is indeed the same ammo. Prvi makes the Wolf Gold stuff for them. But only the Gold brand not the cheaper steel cased stuff. I have found it to be as or even more accurate than most factory ammo and at much better price than most. . If you can find the Prvi it is usually a little bit cheaper as Wolf marks it up some.
