I've been asked to help someone sell this rifle which has been in their family for generations and belonged to a great, great, great, great, great grandfather, or something along those lines.
It's marked "Wolff & Lane, Pittsburgh" on the side of the receiver area and has a personal name engraved on the top in old world script. It's about 58" in length overall, has a heavy, rifled, octoganal barrel and is .36 caliber. I know the pics are lousy, I'm going to get better ones this weekend.
Any assistance in dating and valuing it, and any other info about the parent company and their firearms would be appreciated.
