Wolff magazine springs or factory for Sig P226 20 round mags

So all of my Sig magazine springs are burned out except 1 in under a year. Time to replace them has anyone had any experience with the Wolff 5% extra power sprins in a Sig? I'm still shocked that my springs need replacing so soon but I have put 3000 rounds though the gun and always keep one magazine loaded. So factory or Wolff?

I can't offer advise on your question. I do have a question of my own. What method did you use to determine your mag springs were "shot"? Also, where did you find the proper spring specifications as I want to check my own?

Sorry I have no specs to give you. I started having double feeds with one magazine then over time it progressed to three out of four. I measured my feed lips on all my mags, and fired multiple brands of ammo with the same results. Even let others fire the gun and had the same issues. The one thing I have not done is measure the OAL of the springs and compare them.

If it's happening with all your magazines it may not be the magazine. I normally notice weak magazine springs by last round feed failures or the slide not locking back.

In my experience magazines fail one at a time.

I'd probably look at the breech face and extractor first.

Well they did fail one by one over time I still have one that functions without failure. But just having one is unacceptable so it's time to fix the problem.

Can't help you with any info on the Wolf mags, but I'm supprized about the short life of your magazines. I have a Ruger MKIII with four mags and I'm sure I've shot more than 25,000 rounds through the gun sence I bought it 3 years ago, with no problems yet. BTW my 9mm Sig 226 mags only hold 15 rds. how do yours hold 20? LM

I bought the Sig Tac Ops version of the p226 it came with fiber optic/night sights, the SRT trigger, and four 20 round magazines.

I use 10% Over Springs in all my Sig Mags.
Found out Early On that the Extra Spring Helped with the feeding in my 226s and 220s.
I also increase the Recoil Spring and Reduce the Hammer Spring in all my Sigs except
for my 220 Match Models,

Well, on a scale of 1 to $infinity, I expect the cost of springs will be pretty low. So if you are inclined to go by trial and error, the springs are a good place to start.

I bought the cheapest springs LW carried for my g19 aftermarket mags. They were 4 dollars each. Been working fine for 2 years, now. They're still stiffer than my factory Glock mag springs which are only a few months older. I use 'em all the same, and I wouldn't hesistate to put one in while CC'ing.

AFAIC, if LW sells it, it's probably a well tested quality product.
