My wife has a purse - shoulder strap type - with a steel aircraft cable inside the strap ( can't be cut ). Thinking about having it converted to include a Velcro access handgun pocket. Do on the market purses designed for handguns have the steel cable in the strap?

She bought an Off Duty .38 & a Chiefs Special .38; but when she goes to the ATM machine, she likes to take my Super Blackhawk .44. Says she believes it's more intimidating.

Some where I seem to remember reading the wallet holster ( looks exactly like a wallet - but a hole for your trigger finger ) for DA hammerless derringers raised legal questions. Tell me I'm wrong. Something about ( and I can't believe this is true ); some low life says, hand me your wallet and it catches him completely off guard when you begin to hand over your ( supposed wallet ) and then pop the SOB.

Everyone will have a different preference,,,

Everyone will have a different preference,,,
Some will argue that on-body carry is the only way to go.

I say carry in whatever style/manner,,,
That ensures you have a gun on or with you.

I use this Concealed Carry Briefcase from guntotenmamas,,,
I was a student for so many years that carrying a satchel/book-bag is second nature to me.

My Beretta Cheetah lives in the inner holster.

Is this the ideal way to carry my gun?,,,
No it isn't.

But without this briefcase I wouldn't be able to carry nearly as often as I do now.

Definitely read up on the pros and cons of all styles of carry,,,
Then make an informed decision based on your needs.

Only you can make the determination,,,
Based on what is correct for your situation.

I have read the Cornered cat,,,
I value Kathy Jackson's learned opinion,,,
She has earned the respect of the gun community
But that doesn't mean I will follow her advice mindlessly.

The first rule of a gunfight is to have a gun,,,
The briefcase is the best way for me to follow that rule.

Research all the options,,,
Then make up your own mind as to what best suits you.

Hello DammitBoy,,,

Aarond, you misspelled man purse...

I've had it called a "Murse" before,,,
In fact we coined a new term in another forum,,,
Guns that fit the inside holster could be called "Murse Guns".

But seriously,,,
Mine is more like a survival kit,,,
Since I don't carry textbooks in it any more,,,
It holds everything from flashlight and spare batteries,,,
To a couple of power bars, a bottle of water, multi-tool, and sewing kit.

I once became a hero to a female co-worker,,,
When I was able to sew a critical button back on her blouse. :D

Like I stated before,,,
Having it with me is second nature now,,,
My Beretta Cheetah lives in it and it never leaves my sight.

In all the years I have been carrying it,,,
I've only had one opportunity to need the handgun.

I was in a video store,,,
I heard a loud shout of, "Blankety-Blank, I'm gonna kill you!"

I couldn't see the angry person,,,
But I backed into a corner and unzipped the compartment,,,
I didn't draw the gun but I had my hand on it for immediate draw and fire.

When the cops showed up, I simply removed my hand from the compartment,,,
And went on my merry way.

Like I said before,,,
It's not the ideal method of carry,,,
But it's not as useless as some people claim.
