The grandson won a 870 Marine and a 100 rounds of shotshells in a raffle. Were the ones made before bankruptcy any good? I see they're going for $1200 or more. Thanks
Congrats! That's one heck of a great raffle prize. Those are nickel plated IIRC and built on a magnum receiver. And with 100 rounds of ammo.... I'm jealous.

Spray paint or have it dipped are a couple of ways to deal with that issue. The only knock on the marinized 870 is that it's a bit bright and all too noticeable in hand in the dead of night... Other than that an 870 will always be my first choice when serious work is needed at close quarters.
An excellent shotgun that will serve your grandson well.
$1200? Prices are crazy nowadays.
As long as he has an 18" barrel on it he'll be fine. Stock + 14"er = NFA SBS, needs tax stamp and $200. I asked about this and that's what I was told. If that is wrong I bet someone here will be happy to set it straight.Turns out it's a 870 marine tac-14. He says he's gonna buy a magpul stock for it. Is it legal to do this?View attachment 1005885
Why so?Gonna have to leave the gun as is.
