But that would require I go to Vermont or Alaska.

Pretty much. I'm just putting some perspective back into this thread. Take your new permit, go to Vermont or Alaska, stare at that expensive permit while you're there as you carry your gun, then ask yourself while looking at the permit, "what did I just pay for?"

Or maybe you could take that new permit to NYC, stare at it, and ask yourself "What would all the people around me pay for one of these?"
It's all a matter of perspective.
Congratulations, and be safe :)

Not a perfect world with the permit thing. But if those are the rules we have to live by for now, then we will.. Or at least I will.

But we must keep kicking the doors in to restore our natural rights to self-defense back to where it should be...

""what did I just pay for?""

$50 for 5 years is not expensive. I've been to Vermont, it's too cold for too many months every year. Think about the heating bills. Hey, if you can drag things off topic so can I.

AB,

Good on you. I checked out my window and the streets aren't running with blood. hmmm... could Little Sarah One Note be wrong?

Now... seeing as you are the newest of we who tote, you get to buy the beer. I'll take a Stone IPA, but an Arrogant Bastard is #2.

Good choices in beer! Perhaps we can organise a range visit, to be followed by a cold beer.

I forgot to mention, my wife's last 5 years of residence didn't add up to 5 years, so they sent hers back :( Mine was ok :) But I originally (originally, but in the process rekindled my love of firearms) got the things for her sake.

Arrogant Bastard is good....pricey though, not familiar with Stone IPA, but IPA is good, so, yum either way :)
