working my longbow a little

For the last 6 months or so my bow has been hanging on the wall collecting dust so after a little pistol work the other day i stuck the green guy on one of my archery target and set him out at 25 yards
the weapon; Black Creek Banshee 45# recurve

First shot things got ugly, it went high and hit the block holding the green guy

I worked it about an hour before putting it back up, i was pretty consitent out to about 40 yards when cold weather put a stop to my archery practice last fall, now that its warming back up its about time to spend a couple of hours a week getting back in tune with my Banshee :)
 
That's the same way I spend most weekend mornings before the wife wakes up.

A lost art to many.....
 
Nice! I use my old indoor arrows for my recurve. 31" 2512 alum w/ 145gr points. It's like lobbing a spear. :) When I got my bow back out last year I stacked a couple bales of hay for a target. First shot went slam through and is still somewhere under the thatch.
