Other than the videos on youtube has anyone used one of these? They seam like a simple but strong tool.

I spend most of my time with .223 and trim 500 or so rounds at a time. I can do this by hand but I'm most interested in the way this tools indexes off the shoulder which is supposed to be a more accurate way of trimming brass.

Any thoughts?

I use the Possum Hollow Trimmer same concept, indexes off the shoulder. It's certainly fast, and as long as you FL size first, reasonably accurate. It will vary a bit with different head stamps, but for my use (ammo for PD hunts) it works great.

I ordered it today and should have it by next week. I'll let you know how it works soon after.

I have one of these for .223...it rocks. Faster than anything else I have tried, and accurate too. Much more rugged than the Possum Hollow offering. I will be getting one for .308 soon.

Just my 02,
LeonCarr

Nice tool, but still doesn't compare to the Giraud. Sorry, but trimming and chamfer/deburring at the same time eliminates steps and therefore saves substancial time. Time I could be sleeping, eating, or watching Top Shot! :D

I am really impressed with my Giraud. The latest model offers "quick change" cutter heads, so you don't have to adjust the cutters if you trim more than one caliber.

I understand the mfgr is a mechanical engineer who shoots competition and decided there had to be a better trimmer. So he designed one.

I'm not sure of his production capacity, but I think it's a side line activity.

So hurry up and order one before he decides to retire! :)

Along with the WFT I ordered I also ordered a Lyman Case Prep Center. So I can chamfer, deburr, primer pocket clean and 2 other steps if I want to very quickly. I won't argue the that the Giraud is a better trimming unit but I think my set up will work just fine. Plus the case prep center will also be good for my other rifle and pistol cartridges.
