Long story short I've found that the bolt lugs of my Ishapore 2A1 are quite worn down - the bolt rotates almost halfway CCW when dry fired. My simple question is this: What, if anything, can be done at home to remedy this?

The metal has no parker, no blue and no coating - it's just bare.

I can put up some pictures if it'll help.

I am hoping I'm not stuck with the option of having to find a stripped Ishapore bolt to replace my current one.

Counter Clock Wise.

The bolt rotates (when viewing from the shooter's position) rotates left about 20-30 degrees when dry fired - noticed by the bolt handle not being completely in the 'locked' position.

From what I understand, this is a sign of lug wear; am I wrong here?

The bolt doesn't have a detent to keep it closed. When you dry fire it it's like firing a round with excess head space and the bolt jumps around from reactive force. I just tried the ones I have and every one, the bolt rotates to varying degrees.
1. Have head space checked.
2. Don't Dry fire bolt gun.
3. Don't Dry fire bolt gun
4. After head space check if OK, fire live round and see if bolt rotates.
5. In 99% of rifles you can lower firing pin by pulling trigger while closing bolt (always pointed in a safe direction and don't have live round in chamber.

You are wrong. It is not a sign of bolt wear. My Ishy does the same. My British Lee Enfields jump when dry fired. Neither rotate under cartridge combustion.

Well I am most certainly glad to be wrong here, thank you!

On a side note - I finally figured out how to completely disassemble the Ishapore's bolt, whew!
