WORST firearm moment in a movie

Any of the countless movies where...

The supposed trained good guy's; LEO's, FBI, or whoever clear a building going into rooms, around doorways etc leading with their guns at full arms length so the bad guy can grab their guns.

Or

any of the Rambo types (too many too mention) with dozens of bad guys shooting at them with full autos (all misses) but they hit each of the bad guys (all standing out in the open with no cover) with one shot from a handgun from super long distances

Or

Last but not the least. One person gets the drop on another person and has them convered with a weapon from a safe distance so what do they do? ...they walk right up to the covered person until they are RIGHT next to them who can then grab the weapon or them.

The Italian Job

Edward Norton's character draws a sig, makes a big deal of decocking it with the lever, then shoots someone. So he's carry a sig with the hammer back?

Reading this makes me rather wish I'd studied film directing rather than science, just so I could make a film that could be labled "Approved by THR".

And/or one that was designed specifically to upset the ChildCare Action Project.

These could easily be the same film, as long as it featured "Realistic gunfire to kill, repeatedly", "realistic explosions, repeatedly", and "realistic reckless driving, repeatedly". It would also heavily feature either "Disrespect for authority" (resistance against JBTs), or "Ungodly subject matter" (Zombies, werewolves, etc). Although out of resepct for Art's Grandma, I might have to keep the language down (does she also object to "Dressing to emphasise the female form"?)

there was a tv show that was basically american idol for action stars, next action hero or something.

Anyways...

One of the earliest episodes (before elimiations cut the group back to just a few people) they brought htem somewhere and had them get experienced with firearms, then ran some scenes involving shooting.

There was one short, loudmouthed, big boobed, hispanic or italian chick who was ABSOLUTELY terrible with her pistol. Leaving it behind on the snack table, dropping it, and worst of all, TERRIBLE muzzle disipline when just moving around, climbing into the vehicle, etc etc. You could see one of the trainers was sent to just watch her, he was constantly grabbing her arm or hand to direct the direction in which her muzzle was pointed.

Now, of course they were firing blanks, but hell, a pistol with blanks held right to another person IS going to do damage. Plenty opportunity to accidentally blind another actor, etc etc.

The hollywood actor types just don't have respect for or any idea how truely devistating a firearm can be. (or else they think they have minds of their own...)I almost wish the training company had gone to the pound, gotten a dog taht was about to be euthenized, and used it for a demonstration of how devistating a gun can really be with a bullet right into the skull.

but of course all the animal lovers would get up in arms. Not wrong to have your dog run loose and whelp unwanted dogs that get euthenized, or eat meat as long as it is packaged in white styrofoam and shrinkwrap so you forget it came from an animal killed sole-ly to provide you food. But to use an animal to teach a lesson regarding the power of firearms, and potentially PREVENT human injury, na, that is over the line.

In Lethal Weapon (1), when Riggs and Murtaugh where at the range. When Murtaugh clips the target on the holder, is there already a hole in it? If so, it seems like they could have waited until it was off camera to switch the targets, so the hole would be obvious...

Buffalo chips.....

My favorite is at the beginning of "The Great White Buffalo" with Charles Bronson and Will Sampson.
At the beginning, (according to the narrator the year is 1878) Bronson (who is playing Wild Bill Hickock) wakes up from a nightmare laying the the bottom bunk in a pullman car and draws 2 revolvers and empties them into the upper bunk. I geuss I could buy that one ok, but the revolvers are Model 10 Smith and Wessons! Later on, he wipes out the bad guys with an '86 Winchester.

"Mindhunters" gun-morph

I know this is an old thread, and I am not sure if someone already mentioned this movie or this particular scene, but here I go.

In one segment of the movie "Mindhunters" a guy is shown about to enter an elevator. In his hand is a Beretta (you can clearly see the hammer). In the previous scene he is shown reloading his Glock. He enters the elevator. While waiting for the doors to close he covers the entrance with a Beretta. Then, they show a close up profile of the gun and it's a Glock!

Why can't Hollywood get these details right. They may as well switch actors half-way through a movie.
