Worth it or not?

I have a 1979 Winchester 94 .30-30, that is in probably 98% original condition, accept it's missing the front sight protective hood.

Kinda had the thought of replacing it, and looks like I can do it for under $20.00.

If it belonged to one of you, would you do it, or just leave it as is?

It's a plain Jane 94, IIRC these were called "Ranger" or "Wrangler" versions back then????

I've always removed the front sight hood, especially with an aperture rear sight, as it severely limited field of view. Kept the hoods in case I ever wanted to replace them.

if it bothers you that the hood is missing, I would not care about the hood personally

I have them on 5 Winchesters & I made a round one for my Marlin.

The only ones I hate are the Marlin "widefield" oval ones.
They just don't work with aperature sights.

Replace it!!
