Would a .22lr upper work on a 9mm lower?

I have a 9mm AR from Rock River Arms and would like to use a .22lr upper. Would the .22 upper work with the 9mm Buffer spring?

If you are getting a dedicated .22 upper, it shouldn't matter at all what buffer/spring you are using, as they don't come into play. That's why you can use a folding stock on .22 ARs.

you will need to remove the mag well block though, assuming you are using the colt style and not the Oly style.

The upper will pop right on, but most (all?) mags made for .22LR AR conversions are made to fit a standard AR-15 (ie, 5.56/.223) magwell.
