Can anyone here give me any info about POF (Patiot Ordnance Factory). I did quite a bit of research as far as reading several different articles such as Shotgun News and Guns and Weapons for Military & Law Enforcement. There have been a number of articles written about POFs gas-piston rifles and for the most part they have been positive. But you never know what if anything the guy writing the article is getting for a favorable writing. I ordered my .223 upper back on March 30th and was told to expect my upper in 14 to 15 weeks. Well it's Sept. 5th and still nothing. I've called POF a couple of times and was told one thing and then another. I know when I feel I'm getting the run-around and I'm beginning to get that feeling. What I'd like to know is if anyone has ordered a rifle or upper from POF and how long it took to get their product? Also could anyone tell me what they were charged for S&H? And my last question would be if I decided to cancel my order do you think POF would try nailing me with a cancelled order charge? I would think they could just turn around and ship my cancelled upper to someone else if their that busy. I was tolf by POF that my credit card would not be charged until the day my upper was shipped. Thanks for any info.

I was looking in to POF and came across some less than flattering reviews. I have no first hand experience myself though, sorry.

The firearms they make are top notch -- I've shot one of their gas operated 223s & have fondled an AR in 308 made w/ POF parts. I have not had the pleasure of dealing w/ their customer service depart tho.
I'm actually contemplating building one of their 308s so the results of this thread could prove interesting.

Read everything you can find about the POF before you buy it.

From reading arfcom, I've seen decidedly mixed reviews. There are a couple of other piston designs floating around out there, a few of which seem to work well. Check out the LWRC.
