Wounded warriors and the outdoors

Very touching, and one of familiarity I have shared with my Son when he returned from Afghanistan.

Mentally broken and physically damaged as well, he struggled to adjust to the serenity and calm of his surroundings during our first hunting trip. It took some time, but he has for the most part come back to us, though I fear a part of him will forever remain in the combat theater.

I see a soldier any place and I am compelled to reach out and shake their hand and thank them for their sacrifice, both physically and mentally. Our men and women did, and saw things that would change any persons perception of humanity.

God Bless Them!

Warriors and Quiet Waters

This month's Field & Stream has a good short piece on that subject, pp.12-13.

Tells of Sgt. Andrew Kilgore's Montana fishing trip on Sixteen Mile creek (great photo), plus mentions the organization "Warriors and Quiet Waters" which F&S featured in October 2013.

Gamestalker, best regards to your son.

Thank you Sir.

And I apologize if I seemed to have hijacked the thread, I didn't do that intentionally. It's just that this one vets story brought back a flood of memories, as to how my Son was when he stepped off that plane.

God Bless all of our soldiers!

Absolutely no apologies needed! The story was written for (and because of) men like you and your son. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I pray that over time everything comes back for the both of you.
