I know I haven't been on the board too much lately since I bought my little SUV and the weather here has been really nice, but it looks like I finally have some time to relax at home and catch up on a few things & I thought I'd share a beautiful pair of 45 Long Colt Cowboy revolvers that I picked up recently with y'all ...
What we have here is an Uberti Stoeger 1848 Dragoon .44 Cal. 7.5" BP revolver w/ the .45 Long Colt conversion cylinder that is quite a piece of work in itself . This thing is Big, just as big as my Virginian Dragoon 44 mag revolver and probably a little heavier than it is. This is a really cool revolver and it's fully functional but just like shooting bp rounds, it takes awhile to load & fire the 45 LC cylinder because you have to remove the barrel and the cylinder, then pull the firing pin cap to load the cylinder before capping it and sliding the cylinder back into the frame and replacing the barrel. Slow it may be but it's still pretty cool ...
Continuing on we have a beautiful Cimarron Pistolero 4.75" Single Action Army cowboy revolver also in .45 Long Colt with a really nice blued chrome finish. Obviously of the two this is the revolver I was primarily after to go with my 44 Mag Single Action Army. I already load for the 44 Mag so picking up dies and loading for the LC is a no-brainer, especially since I recently upgraded to a new Lyman All-American 8 Turrent press ...
