This is not correct it defeats the purpose of the baffle. In order for it to work the openings should not be over the pickup, should be to the side. If in alignment your piston will see the full hopper height, this is why to have it to the side.

Maybe I didnt word it quite right, the openings of the baffle is on the sides, or in line with the axis of the rotor. The ridge of the baffle is in line with the rotor stem.

RE the rotor and piston, yes they are the correct ones. I picked the LNL up used a couple of years ago, and that was exactly the same first issue I ran into.

Thanks for the assist. :D

Thanks to suggestions from Blue, I think I may have the issue resolved. Here's what I did:

- I took a small piece of thread tape and put it on the threads of the powder drop down tube. It was constantly loosening up on me, and the thread tape will allow me to easily take it back apart to clean if needed.

- I moved the baffle down in the plastic hopper tube to as low at it would go. This still provides quite a bit of powder in the pickup area.

- I loaded the hopper up with WST, then plugged in my Dremel Scriber and held it against the metal hopper body for about 20 sec. This should have provided ample vibration to "settle" the powder.

- I ran 10 cases throught it, then ran 10 more and measured them - all measured 4.8gr (desired charge weight) but two, and they measured 4.9gr.

- I broke for dinner, then came back down and measured 5 more cases, they all measured 4.8gr.

WOOOT !! WST and I may be back on speaking terms. :D

Thanks Blue

Me thinks I celebrated too early.

Did the same steps as above, reloaded 100 rounds, gauged and bagged them, then checked a drop and it was 5.1gr, next was 4.7, next was 4.8.

Looks like I will have to modify my process a little to always run some drops through before starting back up. :fire:

RCBS 1500 digital scale, calibrated before each session, and I've also started checking against a case I've labelled and set aside specifically to verify the reading. The scale has always been spot on.
