It irritates me that I cannot find a .40S&W in a frame size (1911 Pattern) between my PocketLite Govt Mdl and my Defender. Does anyone know of a STEEL 1911 trigger, etc pistol which fits the above standards? For Size purposes.. the K4043 is the closest but to me, is still too large in thickness.
I guess that what I want is the minimum external dimensions necessary to physically handle the cartridge and its pressures. oh, and the barrel chamber must be fully supported.

anyone??
thanks

Have you looked at the CZ 2075 RAMI? I have one in .40 and like it a lot. Not sure if it meets your specs though.

STI Compact? news to me...

many thanks for bringing this to my attention. I LIKE this pistol although I would like the barrel to be 3" instead and I still do not know what the height of the pistol is. However, it IS a 1911 !!! very thin or certainly about .2" thinner than the skinny Kimber as I remember. in fact, my Defender (against which all things are judged in this search) has a slide thickness of about 15/16"... so, this slide will be about a 1/16th thinner.

got to find one to fondle and compare to my Defender. <G>

thanks again Zundfolge. not sure why I am wanting to get into this other than I have gotten to the point that I think that my Defenders are too heavy to carry, and too bulky. and, I have bought 3k pcs of brass for this chambering and now have to buy a set of dies for the XL650. I have looked at K40s, Gl 23, XD, etc and this is the first thing that looks as if it might be what I want to play with.

btw MEDDAC19, the CZ is a polymer I believe.

cheers

I carry a CZ RAMI, it's an aluminum alloy frame with a steel slide.
I think it's a great gun. btw, .40s&w.

MachIVshooter pretty much called it. I have a PM40 with black slide and night sites and while not a 1911 series, it is still a powerful and small yet still accurate carry pistol. I carry it when it's not convenient to carry the bigger SDS I have. it's gotten so easy to carry/conceal I rarely takled the SDS out unless it is really COLD and I have lots of cover clothing on.
