WTK: Benelli M1 Tactical Ghost Load and Limbsaver 10401

I have a couple of questions for the board experts concerning a Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical.

First question - I am unable to "ghost load" a round on the gun.

I did a search and it appears that I can modify the bolt carrier's rear notch to be able to "ghost load" a round. Anyone have any dimensions to machine the rear notch? All I can find is machine it like the front notch only a 180 out.

Second question - Is Limbsaver model 10401 the correct model for the pistol grip stock? The Limbsaver website is a bit confusing.

Ghost load? Guess I don't know that much about my M1Super90 Tactical. I would like to know more on the subjects. I wonder about the Limbsaver use too.

Yes, in order to ghost load the Benelli shotguns, you need to cut a notch in the bolt.

There's a thread over at the Brian Enos forum that shows the modification on a Benelli M2 bolt.

You will need to register to see pictures. I do not know if there's a difference in the bolts from M1 to M2, so you should probably do a bit more research before breaking out the Dremel tool. That said, the modification isn't that hard to do.

Ghost load?

Doug, ghost loading a shotgun means that the firearm functions in such a way that when fully loaded, your shotgun has a full tube, one round in the chamber and one round sitting on the lifter. This effectively allows your shotgun to have a round capacity of one more without changing the overall length of the gun.

On some shotguns, like the Franchi 612, you can ghost load them without having to modify the gun at all. For the Benelli shotguns, you have to cut a small notch on the bolt, and that's enough to allow the gun to be ghost loaded.
