Find a Charlie Chaplin hat while you at it.
I got an idea for a silent movie, in black and white and instead of a cane , we can use this shotgun...practice that mustache wiggle and cane twirling...

Be a short reel right before the Main Feature with Fudd...

How would you aim that thing at any kind of a distance? You would be pointing down 1-1.5".

Though standard shotgun ammunition works, we offer a special proprietary ammunition that works better; we call them "Shrapnel Shells". They comes in lethal and non-lethal loads designed specifically for our barrels and home defense.

who the heck wants a non-lethal load? Those should be called "pending lawsuit from the now-crippled bad guy load" If I shoot someone it's cause I want them stopped, and dead=stopped, non-lethal=angry as hell.

Anyone that doesn't have a business address is suspect. This is a whois of housegun.com.

Pasted from the site, comments mine. Note that these are personal opinions only, any resemblance to persons living or dead is strictly coincidental, all other standard disclaimers apply, do not try this at home.

The Ultimate Firearm for Home Protection
There is no "ultimate" firearm for any purpose. Most any gun will do, if the SHOOTER will do. People matter far more than hardware. And there are no hardware solutions to software problems.

A sawed off shotgun makes a great home defense weapon. This is because the shorter the barrel the wider the projectile spread pattern.
Myth. Barrel length has far less to do with pattern spread than choke does.

A wide spread pattern gives you a better chance of hitting a armed intruder and stopping him from shooting you.
Hitting, perhaps. Stopping is a different matter completely, however. I seriously doubt any kind of unconventional load with such a short effective barrel to accelerate it will do much in the way of real stopping compared to conventional buckshot or slugs fired from a conventional barrel of 18" or so.

The problem has been sawed off shotguns are illegal. A shotgun barrel has to be eighteen inches long to be legal.
If you WANT a short barreled shotgun or an AOW (any other weapon), they are in fact legal in many jurisdictions, for anyone willing to pay the taxes and do the paperwork. But the claims as to much wider pattens from shorter barrels are vastly exaggerated here. And there is a certain amount of loss of ballistic effectiveness from barrels too short to allow a full powder burn, which further reduces terminal effectiveness of any load fired from them.

We have found a way to get the wider spread pattern of a sawed off shotgun without breaking the law.

Our proprietary cone shaped eighteen inch barrel with a two and three inch round or oval muzzle provides the wide pattern legally.

It looks something like the old blunderbuss that pirates used, but works a lot better.
The blunderbuses used by coach guards and pirates had belled muzzles to facilitate reloading under less than ideal conditions- swaying on top of a coach, or on board a rolling and pitching ship. The bell had NOTHING to do with opening the pattern.

The barrels will attach to all popular shotguns

The House Gun is the best shotgun for home defense. There is less chance of missing in the panic situation created by a armed intruder in your home. Also the projectiles will not travel as long a distance or penetrate walls like many other firearms, so there is less chance of killing or injuring family members, neighbors etc.
I beg to differ. Conventional shotguns with conventional loads of buckshot and/or slugs have a long history of being used effectively at close range by the military, law enforcement and private citizens. The "House Gun" is a deskbound design, based more in myth than in reality IMO. As mentioned earlier, hitting is not equivalent to stopping. Human beings are not necessarily 'soft' targets, and a hit by a piece or two of 'shrapnel' is not something I would be willing to sake my life on as a manstopping load. A full charge of 00 buckshot at 1600FPS, yes (with several more readily available if needed)- but something that will not penetrate drywall is not likely to penetrate a human being with sufficient results to stop them either.

Though standard shotgun ammunition works, we offer a special proprietary ammunition that works better; we call them "Shrapnel Shells". They comes in lethal and non-lethal loads designed specifically for our barrels and home defense.
As has been so often stated here, private citizens have no business employing less lethal munitions in self defense. Firing a firearm- ANY firearm, with ANY load- at another human is using deadly force. If you are justified in shooting AT ALL, you are justified in using lethal force. If you are NOT justified in shooting, you are not justified in using so-called "non-lethal" ammunition. It's a bad idea all round.

We also offer a powerful proprietary tactical light that mounts under our barrels. It aims the gun like a laser and shows the spread pattern on the target at different distances. Coming soon; a wall rack to secure and display the weapon, a special cleaning kit and a booklet on home defense tactics.

Most of the shotguns people have in their house for home defense are designed for hunting. It does not make sense to use a gun designed for shooting ducks at long distances for home defense. By replacing the hunting barrel with one of our barrels, you change a hunting weapon to a House Gun. You can change it back for hunting.
Shorter barrels are indeed IMO more useful on home defense shotguns. CONVENTIONAL shorter barrels, that is.

The deterrent factor: Imagine staring down a three inch barrel. The House Gun is the loudest shotgun ever made. The barrel acts like a megaphone. The House Gun is a hand held cannon. There is nothing more intimidating.
If you want to scare someone with how something looks, add a fright mask to your arsenal. If you want to scare them with noise, get an air-powered boat horn. Someone drunk/drugged/crazy enough to charge a .729" muzzle is unlikely to be dissuaded by a 3" muzzle. If such a person intends on separating your body and soul, you'd best be ready and able to dissuade him with the application of sufficient ballistic energy to turn him off. I have serious personal doubts the "House Gun" is a sufficiently reliable dispenser of sufficient ballistic energy to stop a determined attacker.

If however you think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, feel free to buy and use it.

Just an opinion:

That may be the most retarded thing I've seen. A wide spread of shot flying around my house with 3 kids ain't gonna happen here. I have no problems with my 18" 870 for home defense. If intimidation is key, by a 37mm M-203 copy with some rubber ball or bean bag rounds. That strapped below an M4gery should bother anyone on the wrong end of it.

14" Cavalry Shotgun

Navy Arms and/or Dixie used to sell a blackpowder double with 14" barrels. Since it is black powder it can be purchased through the mail and the length is legal. Using that for pest control makes more sense than the Elmer Fudd Special.

P.T. Barnum sales pitch aside, things like "Sharpnel Shells" are illegal in some areas like.....Illinois. (Along with Bird Bombs, Dragon's Breath, and Bolo shells, among others.)
