Im looking into getting a crossbow always wanted one, know not a **** thing about them. Was wondering durability, quality, warrenty, and overall customer service, who is better? Triangulated down to a Barnett ghost 375, Wicked Ridge invader g3, or Barnett Recruit Terrain. Trying to keep it under 500. Uses will be targeting fun, and survival if need be.

Not a huge crossbow following here, and I’m of no assistance since I’m new to crossbows myself. Of those that you mentioned I have heard good things about both Barnett bows, but those were from dedicated Barnett guys.

Most will do what you want. I'd stay away from unknown closeout brands. You can spend two grand on one that will give rifles fits at a hundred yards but the trajectory is high rainbow. Unless you get one with a crank cocking device you'll be pulling from 150 to 200 pounds with a two handed rope cocking device. Either get one that can be decocked without shooting, that also has an anti dryfire trigger, and has fingerguard for end.
Read a few articles.
I'm still using a Barnett wildcat from about eight years back and it is fine for me. Dealers and manufacturers tell you you need to upgrade every year. Bull crap.

I have a Ten Point and bought it so my son could go hunting during the archery season. He is not quite old enough to pull the 35# minimum required. That being said, Wicked Ridge is a sister company of Ten Point. When I was a retailer for Cross Bows the Wicked Ridge sold even with the higher price point Ten Points. Product quality was excellent along with Customer service. I would suggest Googling some on line reviews on the models you are considering. Good luck.

Years back I was into crossbows. At the time, I liked the simplicity of recurves and went with Excalibur which were highly regarded for their durability. Not sure if that is still the case, but something to look at.

I did some research and ended up buying a carbon express mostly because my locsl bowshop had it in stock. 20171121_164318.jpg it shoots 375fps and is a hard hitting, flat shooting sob.
I think that the excaliber is probably the best xbow out there but spendy.
The other name brands are good too.
I wanted to support my local bow shop, so i bought mine from him. I bet you csn find some really good deals this timr of year.
Beware of crappy scopes on pkg deals.
I would rather buy a bare medium priced xbow and top it with a new nikon bow scope. My .02.

Have heard good things about Carbon Express.

For Excaliburs, I had the Ibex SMF (synthetic main frame) and Vortex (aluminum frame). I liked the SMF better for whatever reason.
