I wanted to try some plated bullets and I decided to get some from X-Treme Bullets, based largely upon impressions and opinions voiced on this forum. It was a bonus that they had a special that allowed me to get 180 gr round shoulder flat nose .40 S&W bullets for 7% off, and with no extra for shipping.

I've heard so much about bullet packages being damaged in shipment to the point of loss that I was a little anxious as to the condition in which mine would arrive.

The packages arrived via UPS yesterday and I was really impressed with the packaging. It was boxes within a box within a box. The individual bullet boxes were taped closed. Those boxes were inside a larger box. That box was inside another box and had such a snug fit that friction made it difficult to get them apart when opening. The outer box was taped very securely. It was apparent that all the boxes were specialized to fit tightly enough inside one another that they reinforce the overall package.

Now that they made it safely to me, I'm looking forward to working up the loads.

I agree

I ordered some 9mm when they were on sale and just got my 40's that were 7% off. The packaging is like nothing I have ever seen. No worries when you order from them.

Are you sure it's UPS and not USPS? I have received many shipments from xtreme and they all came via the post office. Great company, great service.

I've ordered from them several times, and have always been impressed with the price, quality, order fulfillment time, and packaging. Good guys.

Its pretty hard to have a ruptured package with a package inside of a package. I was impressed also.

I just wish UPS was as fast as the postal service around here. I waited two weeks for mine to be delivered. There were snow storms going on though so that surely played into it.

RMR doesn't sell 41 magnum bullets so Xtreme it is for them. Won't disappoint.

Yep....it was UPS. I was expecting them and when the doorbell rang, the delivery guy was still returning to the truck. Besides, I'd been tracking them and it was the UPS site.

I purchased them on Tue, 3-18-14, at about 10:30PM, and they were at my door on Wed, 3-25-14, at 3:00PM. That's the date the tracking indicated I would get them. I thought the time frame was just fine.

Missouri Bullet does much the same thing with USPS Flat Rate boxes. The only problem is the weight of the darn things. I thought I was going to get a hernia with my last order!

Xtreme switch from USPS to UPS. Probably because it's cheaper. It definitely takes A LOT longer to receive my shipments now from UPS. But I can't really complain when the shipping is free.

I copied this from their website: Xtreme

Your card will be authorized at time of purchase and a hold may be placed on your card for a period of 24 hrs to 10 business days (check with your bank to find out more info). Once your order is ready to ship we will charge your card and send your order via USPS Flat Rate Box within approximately 48 hours from the time of the charge.

The reason some people get UPS and some USPS might be location. Depending on where you are it might be cost effective to ship UPS. I know the Post Office will ship anything in their flat rate box if it fits for 15 dollars. Maybe UPS can do it for less to certain parts of the country.

Xtreme does a good job. If you REALLY want to be impressed by packaging securely, buy some bullets from blarby here on the forum. It's like breaking into Fork Knox. :D

Blarby is a forum member here. He started the Pay It Forward thread. I don't think he's actually in business though... haha!

I spoke with X-Treme a couple of weeks ago and they told me that they're shipping exclusively with UPS now. Probably too many complaints from the mail carriers about the heavy packages.

Just wait until you run a group buy and buy 490k projectiles

I'd love to see an order like that! (in my garage :))

Do they box orders that size the same way? 3 individual bullet boxes inside a box, inside another box?

One of 6 pallets. Each pallet was between 1800-2300lbs

I've been getting my bullets from Xtreme for quite a few years, back in fact when they were Western Bullet Company, I've all ways been impressed with their pricing as well as their shipping.

They are certainly heavy. Bad part was one my boxes from MB actually broke during shipping. My mail man delivered them in postal crate which contained 30-40 bullets loose in the crate. I just wonder at what point the box actually broke open and spilled.

How do you even take delivery of an order like that without a truck dock to accept the pallets....or do you have a fork lift?

It still looks amazing and the guy in the photo sure looks happy, even if he's lifted all those individual boxes.
