XD barrel problem

I was cleaning out the barrel and noticed that some of the stuff wasn't coming off .. It looks almost like there are abrasions right after the chamber in the barrel.. I tried to take a picture but I couldn't get it to come out right.. is the barrel damaged?? Thanks for the help!

I wish I could help you, but I think the description is a little too vague. I own four XDs, one of which has about 9,000 rounds through it, and I haven't noticed anything like what you have mentioned.

Have you done something to scratch the barrel? When you clean, you do run brush and patches out the muzzle in one direction, right? Sorry if that is too obvious a question, but had to ask.

Have you shot any lead bullet ammo through it? Could it be leading?

I haven't shot any lead through it ..

Try Pressure Foam or Hobbs 9 Barrel scrub. (smells bad but it works great)

I'd try soaking the barrel for a while in Hoppes or something simiar then clean it again and see if it comes off. I had some really stubborn gunk after the chamber in one of the .45's that took some elbow grease to remove.
