XD Xtasy??

I watch most of the shooting shows on the Outdoor Channel. Recent episodes have shown Instructors and students with XD pistols. Clint Smith (TR) and
Rob Pinkus(Vahalla) with the .45 ACP versions.

Are Instructors around the nation turning onto the XD for some reason other than the fact that the are ergonomic for most and very durable and reliable?

Was the creation of the .45 ACP gun a real shot in the arm for the XD?

I have yet to handle the .45 versions, but liked the way the .40 felt.
