I have been debating whether I should buy a Crossbreed Supertuck for my XDM .45 or just buy a smaller weapon for every day CCW. I usually always wear a light jacket of some kind.

My question is: would it be a good decision to carry this weapon daily, is it comfortable, and does it print bad? I tried just tucking it in my pants to simulate IWB and it printed pretty bad. Does the crossbreed hold the weapon in a way to make it print less?

Please share your experiences (if you have them) with this particular weapon and holster, or if you have a suggestion for a better holster.

Thanks.

I don't care much for that holster, but it you're willing, then you can hide the XDm easy enough, but proper dress is called for.

If you must go with a shirt and tie, then a smaller gun would be easier.

That holster or the Minotaur from the other folks do a fine job of making my CZ 75B disappear with anything more than jeans and a decent sized untucked T shirt.

BUT.......believe me and the others that make a big deal out of the belt you hang something that heavy off of. If your holster rotates on a flimsy belt the sag is noticeable as can be. And, the comfort that comes from investing in a real gun belt (my favorite is from Jim The Beltman, 1.5" double thick horsehide, and nearly as stiff as a stick) is huge. You will never be happy with a cheap belt, and you will fill boxes with holsters that don't work.

I own an XDm .45 and personally think it is a large gun for ccw. I do think it makes a great car /house gun. For carry, I prefer my kimber Ultra Carry CDP or S&W 340pd revolver. A lot less weight and bulk and it gives you an excuse to buy another gun.
By the way, my XDm is easily one of my favorite guns for many reasons. Enjoy it.

I am 5'8" 150lbs. I have been carrying my XD .45 in a Super Tuck for over a year know. I carry everywhere I go and have never been made. I wear it at 4:00 on a Galco belt. You definitely need a good belt for it. I get by with a dress belt at church but a fancier gun belt is on my Christmas list.

As far as printing goes, that depends on what you do. If you bend over a lot or or wear tighter shirts then it will print. I usually don't worry about it though because if someone notices, they probably carry themselves.

I use a Kholster IWB for my XD subcompact, my XDM fits the same holster but that long 19 round grip prints bad unless you blouse the shirt quite a bit. The FNX9 also fits the same holster and does not print as bad. I understand the Sig 250 also fits the same holster. The Kolster is adjustable so you can tip it forward a bit helping to hide the grip from printing.

I carry a XDm 9mm in a CBST. I think it works fine. It is a little heavy, but I've never carried anything else. As far as printing goes, try different waist positions and configurations with the holster. I have the front clip all the way up and the back one near the bottom. It probably isn't printing as bad as you think.

I haven't carried my XD 45 yet. I'm waiting for UPS to show up with a new holster. My normal carry is a Kimber Ultra CDP II and I carry it OWB in a Ross M9. I like the M9 so much I ordered on for the XD

Are you tucking your shirt?

I own an XD45 Tactical - just a little larger than the XDm 45 - and the two issues I can see with carrying it concealed on a daily basis are grip length and weight. A good gun belt can help with the weight issue and an un-tucked shirt can help with the grip length issue but you haven't told us much about how you dress on a daily basis other than saying you usually wear a light jacket.

I have carried my XDm 9mm 4.5 concealed on numerous occasions. I use a CrossBreed SuperTuck worn at about the 4:30 - 5:00 position with full forward cant. That tucks the grip up in the area below my rib cage and conceals it pretty well. I have a fairly athletic build, however (at least for a 46 year old guy) :) and I suspect someone with more of a tire around their middle would not be able to tuck the grip like I do. I'm not saying the OP is a fattie, but rather making a general comment. :D

While I don't have an XDm. I do have the holster for my Walther P99. Great for concealabilty and comfortable! The main item... A GOOD BELT. My .02

I carry a xd45 every day.

I have used an akjconcealco IWB setup that I really liked and right now am using a cross breed.

I really like both, with an edge to the crossbreed. The only negative is that it does not work well for me with a tucked shirt. Then again I am tall and skinny, so that might be part of it. It is tough to beat for comfort in a Tshirt or untucked though. I just go j frame if I need to tuck.
