I am in Warsaw, Poland for a few days on business, walking down the street when a Police/Military convoy comes through. Lights flashing, horns blowing, two lead cars, four large step vans, three following cars, non-stop, halting main road traffic, dissappearing down the road....
My friend said "They are moving ammo from the wharehouse to the police stations." He is a born in Poland, raised in Texas, back to Poland shooter. He said "You Americans don't know how good you have it!"

Regards from Warsaw
Home soon

I don't get it, why all the fanfare for just moving ammo?

I do however have a fair idea of how good we have it here. Bill of Rights for example, sets us apart from, oh, everyone.

Polish subjects are under very restrictive gun laws

and ammo is treated almost the same as guns, that is, you can't have any. I was here in January when it was a balmy -22 F outside. Another of these convoys skidded on the ice & snow and went tango uniform, spilling several thousand rounds all over the street in mid-town Warsaw. The area was quickly shut-down (with drawn weapons) and no one in the area allowed to leave until ALL the rounds were accounted for. The meaning of "just chill out" took on a whole new perspective from the passerby's point of view.
You can have a target pistol if you get a permit and keep it at your shooting club after they approve your membership application when the police review your background and ...............:(

And that makes people better?

Democracy... power to the people... What a joke. I don't see how it is any different in the end than anything else. The elitest always end up in charge, eventually.
