Start at 20 grains of powder, shoot a 3 shot group. Increase by 5 grains, shoot a 3 shot group. Repeat until you get best group. Bench rested of course.

If you get to 400 grains and still haven't found your best group, though, you might want to call it good enough.
What would be a max load?

I am not familiar with the Yazel pistol. Assuming no pressure issues, the maximum powder charge could be determined the old fashioned way; put a sheet on the ground in front of the muzzle and look for unburned powder granules. When you start seeing a lot of unburned powder, you aren't going to increase performance much by going higher.

3F has been the usually accepted pistol grade of powder. In the small calibers many also use it in their rifles as well.

Max accuracy load is where the group starts spreading out. From there more powder is a moot point. In a 36 cal 4 f or 3 f works fine. Reduce loads slightly with 4 f. I use 4 f in my percussion revolvers, both in 36 and 44 cal. Ironically I never put 4 f in flintlock pans, just what ever is going down the bore.

I'd start with 10 grains, work up in 5 grain increments to about 25 grains. Then start fine-tuning. I suspect you will get best results in the 10-15 grain range. 3F will do, 4F might be a bit more accurate.

Is this similar to the beast you are trying to feed? I remember seeing these before but couldn’t recall the name.
Seems a very interesting idea and one that could translate well into a hunting gun. Perhaps a 40 or 44 conical out of a properly built gun would be the ticket to put venison on the table… or better yet pork! Kinda like a Ruger Mk grip attached to a reversed flinter.

So, is it a percussion gun? Inline, or drum and nipple? Flint? Target or hunting piece? I think starting at 20 or 25 grains of standard 3F black or Pyrodex P should suffice for a starting point.
I don't know, the gun is 800 miles away. I will see it after July 4th. It is not a flint but not sure what type of percussion. I believe it is a target pistol as it takes S&W 41 grips.
