Yes, I did it. I could not stop myself. I was just standing around, minding my own business... All of a sudden, I was in the gun store... Then before I knew it, I was checking out... Damn, why does this keep happening to me?

New Ruger LCP... Put some rounds thru it - worked 100%. Very pleased...

Ruger basically took the .32/.380 version Keltec and reworked it. I used to have a 32 cal Keltec many years ago. It worked, but wasn't pretty. And, I really hated the trigger. I ALWAYS pulled the gun as I pulled the trigger, so they never went into the bulls eye. I rented the 380 LCP today, and kinda did the same thing, but not as bad. Decided to get one.

Turns out the one I bought is a bit different. Clerk told me that Ruger redid the trigger not too long back. The trigger is not quite as long and heavy as the older rental, or like the Keltec I used to have.

When I shot it, I actually DID hit the center of my targets. Trigger is MUCH better.

Did most shooting at 5 yards due to the size of the gun. But, did some at 7 yards - damn... Gun is awesome... Did some doubletaps and 1 handed shooting. My hand does hurt now - after the one handed shooting. The 380 version does have more recoil than the 32 Keltec did. But, it's still not bad.

Only negative - cannot find any JHP in 380 in my town. I did see some a couple weeks ago - but I didn't have the gun then. So for now, I kept 7 rounds of FMJ in it until I can find some carry ammo.

I have the latest version of the LCP myself and use it for my EDC. There are to camps: lovers and Haters.:banghead:
Much more lovers than haters. :D

Congrats on a fine CCW. I have my gen 1 LCP in my pocket most days. Also OP, if you need a spare mag pickup the factory 7 rounder for ~$5 more than the 6 round mag. The 7 round mag doesn't much more bulk than the 6 rounder with finger extension.

I'd be willing to look with a new trigger. I certainly hated the 8#,forever long, breaks 1/16' from the frame and pinches your finger trigger. That's good news. I understand you don't want a target trigger on a DAO but man, I hated the old trigger.

I use Rem Golden Saber in mine. Good review in one of the gun mags about 6 months ago. I also shoot mine at 25 yds
What, 25 yards with a shorty? Its just my way! If I can nail him at 25, then 5 is a given! Bare with this old frog, to each his own.
Enjoy it, I love mine!

I managed to get a box of Golden Sabers. Although, after watching all the ballistic tests for 380 JHP, hydrashok seems to be a bit better. But, it was all I could get.

Hope to try some hollow points thru it on Thur to see how it feeds :D

I have yet to see the revised LCP.
I have two of the standard LCP's but would like to have the better sight model especially if the trigger is better, not that the trigger in the old models is horrible but it is definitely long.
My LCP fires Golden Sabers,Critical Defense, and PDX-1 without any issues.
My daily carry is loaded with Hornady Critical Defense simply because I bought four boxes that were on sale last October just before the political ill will/shortage.
I still occaisionally see the Hydrashoksfor sale at Academy.
Might grab a box and try them.
