I have really been enjoying shooting my Ruger 10/22 before and after putting it in the Magpul X-22 Hunter stock.
Have you considered upgrading the barrel and trigger on your 10/22? You could get close to MOA with less money.

Shaw 18" SS bull barrel with Bentz chamber $158 (Not for hypersonic ammo) - https://1022racerifle.com/shaw-barrels-18-ss-bull-920-barrel-ruger-10-22-tcr22/

Green Mountain 17.5" SS fluted heavy muzzle barrel with Bentz chamber $174 (Not for subsonic ammo) - https://1022racerifle.com/green-mou...-heavy-muzzle-barrel-ruger-10-22-tcr22-rifle/

Kidd "trigger job" kit $115 - https://www.kiddinnovativedesign.co...-Sear-Disconnect-and-Trigger-blade_p_116.html

2 available for $499 - https://www.gunsamerica.com/s/t/cr22#

Has that always been what the TC/R22s have been going for? For some reason I was thinking they were a $375 rifle, give or take.

And, I installed a Volquartsen target hammer that I have no money in. It made a nice difference in the trigger.

I've not heard about that. I think I had seen some on gunbroker, fyi. They are a "cheaper option", but I think they might be a bit better quality than Ruger.

By "cheaper option", I meant compared to a Kidd, Vudoo or Volquartsen.

Yes, MSRP is now $399 (I believe it was $379) and I paid like $100 less before the pandemic and you know pandemic pushed all the firearm prices up - https://www.tcarms.com/firearms/semi-automatic/t-cr22

Then a match barrel may provide you a MOA or sub MOA rifle.

I have a CZ 452 that I have won matches with. But it has thrown flyers. I just tape bedded and it seems to have cured that problem. It just shot a one tiny 5 shot group testing ammo. I plan on a Yodave trigger kit and more testing. I don't know if I could shoot better with a better rifle or not. I also have a heavy barrel 10/22 that is almost as accurate my CZ`s

No such thing as an accurate Ruger
Ahhhhh...I’m far from a 10/22 fan. I’ve owned several. They went away.

But (a) you’ve never seen all Ruger rifles shoot, and (b) there are a lot of Ruger rifles besides 10/22’s. Some shoot quite well. My S-I-L has a very heavy bull barrel of some configuration in 6br. It’s exceptionally accurate

Budget for a very nice scope. I have never heard a bad report or remorse about spending to much on a scope or quality rifle.
Due to a physical issue I choose a Kidd Super grade to replace a custom CZ 455. I'm really happy with the Kidd. If I was to start buying target rifles again from scratch and could shoot a bolt gun without issue I'd buy a Anschutz or a Vudoo. Order a suppressor.

I'm a very much overly enthused fan of .22 rimfire firearms. My most recent purchase was a CZ 457 MTR, and, so far, it's been an outstanding performer for me:

It has even provided some surprising groups that I certainly did NOT expect with some good .22 rimfire ammunition:

The CZ rimfire rifles are not that costly as for example, an Anschutz, and the three CZ's I have all shoot very well for me. As for the Ruger 10/22, I don't have an actual Ruger version. Mine is a KIDD assembly that I put together during a winter past:

Here are some ammo test results for my CZ 452 Lux. It was a windy day and the table wobbled in the wind. But you can see some one hole 5 shot groups at 25 yards. I had some horizontal spread with HV rounds and they shoot lower.
I plan on retesting after I change trigger springs and under better conditions. One target is a sight in with many rounds in it. All of the rest are 5 shot groups.

If you like open sights you can go with an M1 Garand clone in .22 LR from Kingston Armory. Now out of business but they turn up from time to time on Gunbroker. Based on the 10/22, mine is a 1/2 to 1” 5 shot group shooter at 50 yd with SK Standard +. Weight and dimensions are very close to the real deal. Great fun!

How far are you planning to shoot? Out to 50 yds you can get 1 moa with many decent rifles in semiautomatic and bolt action. Stretch that to 100 yds and you are looking at the best semi autos like Kidd, and target level magazine fed bolt actions from Anschutz, CZ, and Vudoo to keep your groups at 1” or less. At 200 yds, 300 yds and beyond only the Vudoo repeaters and a variety of specialized single shot bench rest rifles will maintain 1 moa groups.

A Vudoo rifle (sporter, benchrest stocked or chassis build) will be your best value at that rarified level.
This is a good, in depth article on testing of multiple Vudoo rifles at the Lapua Test Center. https://dayattherange.com/?p=8099

My Vudoo is the most accurate rifle I have ever experienced. The build quality is superb as is customer support.

My eyes are not good enough for that...unfortunately.

The range I shoot at is limited to 100 yards, so, that is probably going to be my max.
Then the CZ MTR, any Anschutz magazine fed target rifle or similar offering from Walther and Feinwerkbau should be perfect.
However, as a red coolaid drinking Vudoo fanboy I must recommend one of their rifles! I’m 62+ yrs and my V22 will shoot 1” at 100 yds consistently. When I have optimum conditions it will shoot 1/3” 5 shot groups at 100 yds.
They start at $2500 new but a couple have begun showing up on Gunbroker for a bit less.
Vudoos comes left or right hand bolt, 90 or 60 degree bolt throw, magazine fed or single shot. Your choice of bbl length and everything else. They are in the same price range as Anschutz et al but you get much more for your money.

As much as I'm sure I'd love shooting an Anschutz or Vudoo, I don't have the budget for one. Lately, I've been getting a big kick out of the rifles that I do have. The one that I've been really digging for trying to make small groups has been a Ruger American RF, Target model, Nikon scope and Harris bipod.

This is ten shots at 50 yards. I don't know the exact group size, but the red dot is 1.5". It may not look like much, but it was pretty good for me. I'm sure a better shooter could make a smaller group with this rifle.

I'm pretty much with "Spats" as far as what I consider to be a good investment for a .22 rimfire rifle. For $2,500.00, I can buy three, almost four, of the CZ 457 MTR rifles. On my range I now can go out to 100 yards, and even 200 yards if I lop a bunch of trees down, but as for me, I can't see the point. I know, these days it seems fashionable to shoot long range with .22 rimfire, rifles and ammunition, but if it requires an expensive rifle to do so, I'd much rather have three CZ rifles and try to see if I can hit golf balls on top of my target stand at 100.
As for me, I think ford8nr has the right idea, a bunch of .22 rifles, so a bunch of fun.

The BRNO and CZ heavy-barreled rifles suit me very well. I also like semi-automatics for some things, but for target shooting I prefer a bolt action. I just enjoy shooting and operating the BRNO/CZ guns, and they are very accurate once you find ammo that each gun likes. From the bench, my favorite is the BRNO Model 4 (bottom). The size and weight of the gun (10 lb. 8.5 oz. as shown) rides the bags really well and helps contribute to quarter-inch groups at 50 yards. My next most favorite are the 453 Varmints (middle two guns) which are almost as accurate, but a little more difficult to shoot as consistently with because they are a couple pounds lighter (8 lb 7 oz. as shown) than the Model 4. The top gun is a 452 Varmint in 22 Magnum, accurate for a 22 Magnum but due to the lack of match ammo, not as consistent as the .22 LRs.
