I had a few minutes and I took my S&W 35-1, a 22/32 model 1953 target, 6 shot J frame with a 6" barrel, to the range and was going to burn up about 100 rounds...

2 young friends were there and we had our typical what did you bring conversation along with the obligatory wanna shoot it, Naah I just wanted to shoot my 22. They had a AK, shorty bushy AR with a red dot, a Mosin and a Mauser 98 in 8mm.

I got my targets hung at 25 yds, and got my ears on and looked to their targets at 50 yds and noticed a plastic water bottle on top of the target stand. I let them shoot a bunch while I was looking for a decent group with the ammo I was using, federal bulk pack. One of the guys was shooting his Ak at the bottle and the other was using his Mauser. After a 10 round mag thru the AK and a stripper reload with the Mauser these guys were getting nowhere so I reloaded my 22 Revo and raised it up to the target, set the water bottle lid at the top of the front sight and squeezed off a round and the water bottle flipped over into the grass. They both looked up to sight in on the bottle and said where is it, and I just grinned.:D :D :D

The nasty thing after we went to check targets we set it up again and they tried again and after about 3 or 4 shots each, I shot it just as one of them shot. He knew I shot just as he did and looked at me and said did you shoot it again. :D :D :D Yep I did it.

The next time we went and checked targets we set it up again and we walked back the the firing line and I loaded my 22 and shot it over again right from the start. :D

I really had fun at the range today.

I have not done it for a while (more formal range) but I used to hit gallon plastic jugs at 100 yards with almost every shot from a K-22, so I know the .22 is definitely capable of 50 yard accuracy.

But you have to admit that if they had hit the bottle with an 8mm, the bottle would suffered more damage. If.

I shot some 20oz. plastic pop bottles yesterday with my Mosin M91/30, and it definitely did some damage!:D they flew about twenty feet in the air each time I hit them. Didn't take me 10 rounds to hit 'em either!:neener:
