Thank God I finaly finished after 4 days... Yes you can to convert a saiga, I never have done something like this before, Yes anyone can do it! IF I CAN YOU CAN!!!! :) I was a little unsure what to do at some points. It is 922r compliant now, Yes I reinstalled BHO very hard to do... :D

I'll admit that when I did my Saiga .223 conversion, it was the first time I had undertaken anything like that with a firearm. Since it turned out well, I went ahead did a little milling on it to install the AR-15 mag adapter too.

Looking forward to seeing the pics of your conversion. :)
 
I had Lancaster Arms do my conversion

I had Lancaster Arms do my conversion for $450.00 I really wanted to try it myself... but i knew some how... some way i would make a mistake. They have beautiful stocks and they made it ban compliant for me because i live in such a communist state.
 
about $85 people like to convert because those used parts in ak-47's saiga is cheaper than ak 47 better parts [NEW] :) ....hard part was removing the trigger guard and trigger plate... if you want to do more, bayonet lug etc that can be $$ to add a bayonet lug I hear its over 150$!!

I didnt have to install a bullet guide, Thermold mags are the best dont need those bullet guides :)
 
You got a deal on your parts, with shipping the parts for a bare bones conversion is about $120 and that is using your magazine as 922r parts.

I chose to have my S12 converted by CGW because it was there for warranty work and I wanted to have the holes welded over and a professional finish but if I were looking for a down and dirty I would do the conversion myself. I paid $300 for my conversion and should be getting it back soon.

To anyone on the fence about converting their Saiga themselves this should convince them. If xbox360 can do it anyone can!! :evil:

Out of curiosity, how old are you? I always assumed you were around 16-18.
 
xbox360.....looks good! You gotta admit it's a good feeling to do the work yourself and save the $$ to spend on ammo. ;)


Here's my .223 conversion with the AR-15 mag adapter and a MagPul mag. No overprice .223 Saiga mags for me!

BHO=Barack Hussein Obama.

And if it helps any, Saigas are the only AK I know about that actually include a BHO tab. All the rest, you either have to swap or modify the safety lever to include it, or actually disassemble it to clean.

Makes the PITA getting that spring back on right (And I hope you did, it's a pain getting it on again!) worth it just for the bragging rights.

Do wish they could have found a better spot for the tab, though...
