With professional instruction everything is better. I've taken shotgun classes and have seen proper weapons handling with shotguns.
However, one quick trip to the shotgun range will give one a huge case of the wobblies as far as weapon discipline and shooting is concerned. Shotguns promote (not to say that instruction will not help) mashing of triggers and sloppy gun handling just as Jeff Cooper said.
They will get shotguns, but not before they can break par on El Presidente or Rifle 10.
