This morning I went to the gun shop to get some primers.
Sitting on the counter was a lonely looking little Smith 19-6.
Some lout who didn`t appreciate it had just traded it off.
Always has a soft spot for stray cats and stray S&Ws, so I gave it a new home.

If this is too personal.....don't reply...but,

about how much did you pay for that beauty?

If you ever wanted to get a 19 reblued...would you send it to S&W, or someone else? Does Smith still produce that deep blue, or is it different now?

Thanks for sharing!

Gave $350 out the door for it.
Don`t know the quality of S&W`s refinishing these days.
Over the years I`ve only had two guns refinished, and they were both done locally.

There is just something special about a K frame... even with that cute little pug nose. :) Can't put my finger on it but they just seem so right.

Very nice all around. Poor thing would probably be lonely and constantly ignored by most modern gunowners and their tastes.

Now.... ditch the rubber grips and get WOOD.

If you want rubber or plastic get Glock.

But shoot 'en irons like that S&W need wood!

It has a little holster wear that doesn`t show much in the pics. Considering the condition $350 is a fair price.

I dunno man, in my area 2.5" 19s go for $500 and up, even with holster wear and sans P&R.

I adopted a Model 19 as well, a -2 to be exact with a 4" barrel and some nice holster wear that give it character. Paid $450, which is a decent buy in my local area where 4" 19s go for $450 to $525 (6" go for low $400s, and the 2.5" are usually $550).

It will be wearing wood in the not too distant future.

Mine already is, but it's those hugeormous S&W Target stocks that interfere with HKS speedloaders. That will be fixed with an order from Ahrends shortly.

A very nice find, and what a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, by the adoption of a helpless orphan :) .

Merry Christmas to all!

I've spent a lot more on a stray kitten! You got a deal, IMHO. Of course, as I tell folks, a good gun is worth what you pay for it - and that price is soon forgotten. A clunker's price is a sore reminder forever! Congrats - and...

Merry Christmas!

John

Good Mike! Cause mine do!

Secret Service stocks on both of these.

Mike, I'm glad that nice gun found a home where it'll be appreciated! ;)
Congratulations.
When you get a chance, I'm sure some of us would like a range report!
