You go girl!

One tough lady who didn't give up despite being shot. Glad the robber got the worse of it. I hope we don't pay for one of those Lark or motorized wheelchairs for him.

We should all send him a "recovery" kit. Mine will be a cardboard sign that either reads: "Homeless Veteran, Please help" (not to knock Vets, but there's a lot of phonys out there who use this as a scam when they panhandle) or "Why Lie? Need $ for Beer. :)"

Another victim!

He will be paralized for the rest of his life. ( All because she didn't pump a few more into him!) Notice how ABC makes him the victim not her? I am so sick of this damn "Blue Zone B.S." I can't stand it. :cuss: SHE'S the freakin victim and for some reason had to have her gun unloaded (probably another freakin feel good law). Empty the clip, if it moves reload and empty again till all threat subsides! Can we adopt her? She's a hero and we should tell her so and tell her we're glad she's alive to tell the tale. 3 crack-heads against one lady. I'd say that's fairly even odds! Do we have anyone here who can get her address or what hospital she's in?:D

Gun

The video says she used a .380, but the text of the article says it was a .38. Which was it?

It happened here in Miichigan. Saginaw has a high crime rate with lots of drugs and home invasions. There are no state laws requiring firearms to be kept unloaded and I don't believe Saginaw has that requirement either.

Was it a .38 or was it a .380 she used? To a reporter they are the same thing. Unless she was using a .38 Super, I'd wager she had a .380. Even reporters know what a 9m/m is so if that was the caliber, that would have been reported. Since she was to have loaded the magazine and then loaded the pistol, it may be agood bet that she did not use a revolver, which leads us back to .380.

Now, I do not think that she loaded a magazine and then loaded the pistol before confronting the three. If she was able to do that, she was calmer than 99% of the population. How many of us would be able to grab a magazine, open a box of cartridges, load a magazine and then load a pistol knowing that three armed men, who are willing to shoot, are in the other room and be able to do it in a short period of time?

Anyway, she did well against great odds and deserves the thanks of all.

Ha Ha. I guess the next place he decides to rob had better have a wheelchair ramp.
LOL

Good for her. I'm glad she's not seriously hurt. This is a lot better than reading a story with a headline like "Saginaw resident found dead after apparent home invasion" or something. I truly believe that if more people would take responsibility for their own safety, there would be fewer criminals willing to take the risk of invading someone's home.

I especially liked it when she said: "I feel kinda bad that I shot him, but still, I had to protect myself.
I hate that it happened like that, but I hate that he came in my house like that."

Hell yeah. Stories like this give me the warm fuzzies. If this guy hadn't decided to go on a home-invasion spree with his buddies, he wouldn't be spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He made his choice, and he got justice, in my opinion.

If anyone can find the name of the hospital she's in, I think I'd like to send her flowers.

What do you guys think about no-knock raids now? They were yelling "Get down! This is the police!" when they broke in. How are you supposed to know if they are police or not? How many times have we heard of police kicking down the wrong door?

Moe: Uh, hi, I'm Moe S.
Crowd: Hi, Moe!
Moe: Yeah, so last night I was closing up the bar, when some young punk comes in and tries to stick me up. [the crowd gasps]
Sideshow Mel: Whatever did you do, Moe?
Moe: Well, it coulda been a real ugly situation, but, I managed
to shoot him in the spine. [crowd claps and cheers]
Moe: Yeah. I guess the next place he robs better have a ramp!

I love the Simpsons!

Kevlarman figured it out. I too love the Simpsons (enough to know most of the episodes by heart). Is there a greater show on TV? I think not.
