You have to love the absurdity of pawn shops

Over the last coupla years I've picked up a 5 digit Inland Carbine for $450, a Vest Pocket Colt for $100, a 2" Smith M34 for $150 and an unground Type 38 Carbine for $60.

I like pawn shops. I never make an offer unless I have cash in my pocket and I NEVER comment on their prices. If they have a lot of guns I visit regularly, make small talk with the clerk or owner and occasionally buy non-gun stuff like pocket knives or tools, just to get 'em used to seeing me.

Sometimes it pays off.

Customer relations works BOTH ways.

I have had lots of great luck buying firearms from a local pawn shop in my area. I tend to give them about 80% of my business...If they don't have said firearm that I'm looking for they are more then willing to find one for me asap. I use them for all of my transfers too.I also would like to add that i am treated much better in that shop then i am in 4 other local gun shop's here in town.

I found a local pawn shop (4th generation) that charges $10 for transfers. I have done 4 transfers since May :) Real nice people and they are gun lovers (and female) :)

One of our local pawnshops sells both new and used guns as a side and at reasonable prices; I've purchased a couple of them and look regularly. More importantly, they'll transfer anything I buy online at $20.00 and they charge 10% over their cost for anything you want to order new. Best prices for new guns around.

I've purchased several guns at pawn shops. You have to know what you're looking at and how much it's worth to you, or it's not really worth the hassle of going in most of the time.

My most recent pawnshop purchase was a drill press. Good price, good drill.

A freind of mine sold a gun to a fellow for $2500 bucks and a couple of months later bought it back for a lot less from a pawn shop due to the guy getting a divorce and needing some cash.

i bought 25 and 40 dollar crap once a week at the local pawn shop till the owners son - the manager- got 2 know me well.

after spending bout 300 bucks on little stuff i started haggling on guns
this shop has new and tons of used guns and is the only one with fair or decent prices

ive bought 3 handguns there as well as a flat screen and a ps3

the ps3 broke in less than a week - of course- and to my surprise Cody the manager traded me out strait 4 another w no questions

we are to the point where i automatically get 40-35 percent off without a word said

here is what i have paid- u b the judge

250 no tax = 32in flat screen name brand
250+tax= ps3 with 2 games 2 blu ray movies
600 + tax =PT1911 stainless w extra Kimber mag {brand new sealed}
400 no tax =Springfield Xd sub compact w 2 short and 1 extended mag and INSIGHT light
275 no tax=S&W sigma 40F in NRA 95% w extra mag:what:

I hadn't been in 4 awhile and new i would get a deal on something so i stopped by about a week ago and got 2 50 ROUND BOXES OF WOLF 45 FOR 10$ EACH:evil:

BOTTOM LINE= be extremely cautious and do research, establish raport,
don't go looking for a particular gun just look for the miss priced semi rare or rare guns;)

rrrriiiggghhhtttt........

they are out to get ur property (the criminals who over run our cities and peaceful towns)

WARNING: LEAVING YOUR DOORS UNLOCKED AT NIGHT MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF PROPERTY

There is a shop in my neck of the woods which always has great deals. Anywhere from $10-$100 less than any gunshop around. That is mainly because they only have one distributor, and they get good prices from that distributor themselves. As for their used stuff, you can get stellar deals.

But, they are the only "good" pawn shop. There are a couple who are okay. And the rest all blow monkey chunks to put it lightly.

There is one in town that will always beat the rest in my book. He always tells me when I walk in if he has what I want, or if he can get it for me at about 30% less than the regular stores. I really like the guy and he has always been fair to me. He does a LOT of transfers for people at only $20 a pop!

patton you and i both frequent tri state pawn it sounds like... do you go to jakes or pawn shop express too?.... ive bought quite a few guns there at tri state.. prices used to be a little better on their stuff.. even with the obama price increases, it just seems their stuff even with 30-40% off are fair at best...

I have found good deals but usually limited to 22lr rifles. I have bought around 10 within the last year for $36-79. Multiple Marlin 60s, winchester 190, sears 3t, a variety of others.
