I would grab everything I had

SKS
AR
Moss 500
Browning Over Under
10/22
Marlin 60
229
neos 22
buckmar
SA 22 revolver
NA Arms 22 mag
Grendal P12

And all of my ammo

But if it came down to one it would be the SKS

.45&TKD nice Garands....also nice to see our house isnt the only one with the fisher price hurricane look!!:D

I might be an oddball but I think every lawabidding liberty lovin american should own one SHTF rifle and one good "sniper" .308 rifle(or hell even a .338 Lapua) Just for protecting the homeland against whatever Foreign or domestic. and practise practise practise.

This should go right up their with Voting on election day.

me...I have some stuff ;).....but I always want more.....

great thread

AK-underfolder with Romanian-style grip and AimPoint plus drums full of ammo.
And good tactical sling also.

Well, if I had to grab guns, jump in the car, and go right this minute, I'd be tossing the following into the car:

Machineguns:
M-16
Uzi

Rifles:
AR-15 SBR

Shotguns:
Rem 870 Police Magnum
2x Rem 870 AOW's

Handguns:
Para-Ord C7/45 LDA
Para-Ord Colonel
S&W 686
Suppressed P22

That ought to take care of most situations.

Minuteman, economy style

Grab the Yugo 5/66 SKS with sling and take many rounds of Wolf 7.62x39 hollow points and or FMJ purchased at Dunhams for $3.29/box of 20 before SHTF.

Also grab the Mosin/Nagant 91/30 with plenty of milsurp 7.62x54 ammo.

Ready for any encounter with BG's and can accomplish this mission on a limited budget.:D

I must be patriotic also

I only have 3 firearms at this time but would take all 3 - as they have been specifically purchased for a SHTF scenario:
S&W .45 1911 Sc
RRA .223 LAR Varmint 16" bbl
Ruger 10/22
still want a a large bore rifle and shotgun to round out the battery

I literally use my humble Makarov as my PDW when on the border with the Minutemen. We dont carry long guns, but if we did and this wasnt California Id like an M4gery, as its light and easy to move around with. Id also like an M1A with compact scope, its got great reach but is just too heavy to be scrambling around with.
So as is stands my long gun would be an SKS with folding stock (compact with a bit of punch).

Mini-14, loaded with 60 grain Nosler Partition.
SW 686 .357 magnum, loaded with 125 grain hollow points.

Home Defence

M1A, Springfield, scope and bipod with six 20 rd mags
M1 Garand, H&R, scope and bipod with 10 bandoliers
two M1 Carbines, ten 30 rd mags each (backups)
and my 3 sons, (1 navy, 1 marine, and 1 father)

M1 Garand with over 1000 rounds(about 400 or so are ap with some tracer mixed in also) already clipped up. I have about 100 or so empty clips left and a bunch of bullets. Need more brass.

why would you want tracers? I am a military man so i know what tracers are used for, that is not the question, why would you need tracers and what purpose would they serve you in a shtf situation especially if you were by yourself?

for me i would take my ar,or ak depending on the situation, but that is because that is what i own, but in the future my answer will change to an m1a when i get one. but the ar or the ak will do for now.

Guess I'm patriotic too.

Probably replace the Sistema Colt 1911A1 in the picture with my Kimber Custom II, but the Sistema doesn't have that godawful external extractor on it...decisions, decisions.

Not allowed a HK91, not allowed a FN or SLR. Can have but don't like the Armalite system and the Garand M1A is no good in sub-zero weather. So, to be patriotic also, my No4Mk1/2 Lee Enfield and a 1911A1. I don't have any semi-auto rifles except my 10/22.

its a proven good idea to muster up with a weapon
that will function with the militia's ammo/magazines/parts

AK-47/Glock21 for me, not patriotic but both are as reliable as reliable gets, tough as nails, and more than effective enough. I want guns that need little or no matinance. Total of 210 rounds for the AK ( 1 mag in the gun, 6 in the vest) and 3 mags for the glock for 40 rounds of pistol ammo. This load out is easy to carry and as much ammo as you will need for a initial engagement.

If it was the "End of the world. roaches rule the earth" scenario, I would take my MN 91/30 and my Hawkens. The reason for the Hawkens is all it needs is black powder, a lead ball and a percussion cap...though a flintlock would be even simpler.

VEPR 7.62x39

Winchester Model 70-based .308 ("reach out and touch someone")

Kimber TLE .45ACP

That would be my "must grab" list. Hope I don't have to run too far carrying all that!
