Any of you own one or wanting one?

What is the opinion on these guns?

I like CZech made guns or copies thereof, so the KEVIN
interests me (esp. in 9mm Makarov) but the MDE is
what is available in this country.

Please post you pics of the guns and holsters, ect.

I held one the other day. I didn't care for it, at least not for the price they were asking.

I also didn't like the low profile of the slide with such a small grip. There is hardly any space between the grip and the bottom of the slide and the edge of the slide is very sharp. When I racked the slide for the first time I didn't notice that the skin between my thumb and index finger was over the back of the grip and the bottom edge of the slide caught me. It didn't draw blood but it did take off a couple layers of little skin and it felt like a knife cut as it slid across the skin. It seems to me if you weren't careful and actually fired the gun with your grip too high it could cause some real pain and damage to the web between your thumb and index finger.

That was the biggest turnoff for me besides the price.

I guess il be in the minority then.

I held one at my friendly neighborhood gunshop a little while ago. I havent handled much in the way of .380 pocket pistols, but it felt tiny compared to my .38spl snubbie, and even tinier compared to the medium sized autos ive fired. It felt very solid in the hand, and I am certainly a fan of small all steel pistols for the extra weight and the feeling.

Although I never held Micro Desert Eagle, Ive shot few Kevins - both Browning and Makarov ones. Even one made in 2001 whichs second owner shot over 6500 rounds through it and uses it in LOS competitions..
If i compare it to my Ruger LCP its shorter, wider and much more heavier, easier to shoot but less suitable to carry. And it will surely live much longer.
Too bad MDE is not made in 9mm Makarov.

I had one for a few months, but never got around to shooting it or buying a holster. I always liked the Kevin, so I enjoyed owning the Micro Eagle, but after a while, the novelty wore off and I sold it to buy something I wanted more. I don't really miss it. Sorry I can't tell you how it shot.

I have one and like it. I purchased it because it is a blowback which I perceive to be the better action in a small 380. Both the KelTec and LCP tilt barrel action slam the next round in the magazine on recoil and leave smilies in the bullet and in some cases even cause bullet setback.

Mine has been 100% reliable with all brands of ammo that I have used and accuracy at 7 yards is better than I expected.

Mine has replaced my two Kel Tecs for pocket carry. It's a littl heavier than the Kel Tecs but I feel it's more reliable and more accurate.
No problem at all carrying in a front pocket, I forget it's there.

Reliable and accurate.
It has unusually good sights for a pocket gun. Everyone that's shot mine is impressed with the accuracy.
For the heck of it I shot three mags at 52 yards, standing, two hands. I put two shots below the target, not the gun's fault.
I admit I was suprised that the little the gun would do this well and this is with crappy Brown Bear FMJ ammo.

The only thing I dont like is Crimson Trace doesn't make a laser for it.

Years ago I made this holster for my laser equipped Kel Tec P3AT and now use it for the MDE. It works so well I never bothered to buy a "good" one.

I might get one for a pocket Bug/backup gun, but my primary will always have to be 9mm or larger. If I buy the MDE, I'd have to have a smith do some work on the sights because they are so extremely low profile, no dots, etc. that they are barely there IMO. Other than that, the unavailability of .380 ammo is the only other deterrent.

My eyes are not very good anymore but I found the sights to be more than adequate for the little gun.

I use an Uncle Mike's pocket holster for my Micro and it has worked out just fine.

Price, weight , thickness, and felt terrible in my hand I'll keep my KelTec . It has been trouble free . As for the smilies Keltec has pretty well cured that and the tilt barrel is pretty common on many centerfire autos,
If I was going to spend that amount of money I would buy a Seecamp in 32 In these small guns 32 and 380 not really a big difference in performance Bet BG couldn't tell one from other when shot.

I have three P-3ATs, two of my P-3ATs are first generation and the third one is a second generation and have done the fixes and still they all produce smilies.
I have never had a problem because of the smilies but just don't like the fact they are there.

Yes the Micro is pricey but it shows in the workmanship.

Well made pistols. I like the weight, it should help with recoil. A little overpriced.

One of the considerations that I always give to a new handgun purchase is the availability of replacement parts.

I find it interesting - but I can see how it would be very easy to let a finger slip if you are used to putting a finger outside of the trigger guard. I have done that for years, and just recently stopped shooting that way.

But, I'm scared that I might drop back into that stance - and this is NOT the gun to shoot that way with. You'll lose a finger.

I had one, it was well built but I found it brutal to shoot (basically I hate blowbacks) and it was accurate enough. But I'm one of those old fashioned guys who likes to practice with what I carry and it just didn't work out that way, so I traded it for a Ruger LCR. Very nice little guy.

If you do replace it, I really like the Desantis Super Fly for my Taurus PT-22. Pretty cheap, nice and tacky on the outside, and if you want you can have the outer flap on or off. I usually leave it off.

Thanks guys, I 'll be waiting to drop the cash until I can handle one in person.

it's a beautiful, well made pistol. however, the trigger pull is a show stopper for me. I have enough trouble aiming my LCP. This thing would be even worse.

Yet, it IS appealing on a certain heavy, metallic level. Plus the size is right for concealed carry.

I have handled, but never fired one. Like others in this thread my interest fell off completely after handling it. It simply did not feel good in my hand nor was I fan of the trigger pull. I much prefered the feel of the LCP and sig 238.

I would imagine that the LCP is better for carrying and that the Sig is a much better shooter.
